Pompeo says attack was 'act of war' on Saudi Arabia, seeks coalition
Wednesday, 18 September 2019 The United States wants to build a coalition of European and Arab partners to deter Iran after an attack on Saudi Arabia that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described on Wednesday as "an act of war" against the world's top oil exporter.
Saudi Arabia on Friday took media to inspect oil facilities hit by the attacks that Washington and Riyadh blame on Iran. The tour showed melted pipes and burnt equipment, as Tehran vowed wide retaliation if tensions raised by the strikes boil over into hostilities. Lauren Anthony reports.
