Liberal Democrat leader launches election campaign

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey said his party are the "Tory Removal Service", as he began 2024 campaigning in seats in Surrey held by senior ministers.

The party leader said voters are fed up of the Conservative government as he vowed to "tear down the Blue Wall." Sir Ed visited Conservative heartland seats across Surrey, including those represented by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt and Communities Secretary Michael Gove.
