Storm Ciarán battered parts of the UK overnight and throughout Thursday, with one student in Falmouth saying she was "screaming" and "crying" as a tree crashed through her roof and fell onto her bed as she was sleeping.
Thousands of homes across the south of England have been left without power and more than 300 schools have been closed due to the severe weather.
