TRANSIT OF SPACE STATION DURING THE 2017 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE

During the total solar eclipse in 2017, another unique event occurred as the International Space Station (ISS) made a transit across the sun.

This rare occurrence was captured by astrophotographers and observers on the ground who were in the path of totality.

The ISS, which orbits the Earth at an altitude of around 250 miles, crossed in front of the sun for a couple of seconds, creating an impressive silhouette against the darkened sun.

This transit added an extra element of excitement and wonder to an already magnificent event, offering an incredible opportunity to witness the intersection of two celestial objects in perfect alignment.
