Iraq: Rockets land around Baghdad Green Zone as vote due on new president

Nine rockets landed in and around the Green Zone of Iraq’s capital Baghdad on Thursday, injuring several members of the security forces, the Iraqi security media cell said in a statement.

The Green Zone, home to government buildings and foreign missions, was targeted ahead of a parliamentary session set to elect a new president.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
