Town of Webb loosens zoning laws

The Town of Webb Planning Board is relaxing zoning restrictions to help promote business activity in Old Forge.

The town of webb recently announced their zoning ordinances have been relaxed for the use of outdoor merchandise displays and outdoor seating for restaurants.

Walt's diner owner david aliasso thinks the move will help promote sales to some degree, but it still leaves him needing more.

It's the socialization of you know people being able to sit next to each other, have a coffee and talk about what's going on, so taking that away it hasn't felt the same.

Customer josh newcomb feels the same way.

I mean it's terrible that so many people passed away, and back in march i was terrified, but now it's getting to the poinwhee on.

We just have to.

Down the street at ozzie's coffee bar the relaxed zoning is making a huge difference.

Sot: mackenzie glasser, owner ozzie's coffee bar our patio is very popular in the summertime, so it w prty crucial to have ating outdoors.

One of mackenzie's customer's explained why he thinks the relaxed zoning will make a difference.

Sot: kevin hatch, visiting from syracuse you could come to the coffee shop and do take out, or you could just make it in your keurig at home.

You're going to do that, but when you can sit, you will sit, you will stay, you will buy more, you will get 2 drinks you know.

Sot: kirk tupaj there were afewe outdoor space to promote their business, and i'm told business is a little slow during the week, but things are picking up on the weekend, and anything to promote business here in old forge is a welcome thing.
