5 people are dead and another 5 are injured following a mass shooting in the tiny tehama county community of rancho tehama. good evening and thank you for joining us i'm allison woods. i'm mike mangas. our team coverage continues of the shooting where several children were wounded. krcr news channel 7's taylor torregano spoke with the cousin one of a young boy who was shot. she is live in rancho tehama tonight. taylor. good evening mike.. allison tonight i spoke with the cousin of six-year-old alejandro hernandez. he was shot twice once in the heart and remains in critical condition at uc davis. alondra cruz-mendoza says at about 8 am law enforcement called to tell them to lock their doors and shelter in place. at the time she says they were still unsure of what was going on.. so she called a family member who said she had heard gunshots when she was dropping off another cousin at school. that's when she got a facebook message from the sister of the six year old.. saying he had been shot and was in the hospital.

"he was hit two times. he was hit on his right foot and in his chest and he still has a bullet in his chest so they're trying to do more test to see how they're going to take it out without harming him but it didn't hit any of his major organs which is thank god." taylor: what's going on in your mind? mendoza: it's crazy because these are people that we know it's not random people it's not a big city everybody knows each other it's a family member so it does it hurts" mendoza says the family has already gone through trumatic times this year losing their house in a fire and now the second to youngest son of six children has been shot. she also adds that the family is all they really have and all they can do is be there for one another in such a tough time. coming up at 6:30 hear a first person account from a 20 year old who
