News video: Two New Genes Linked To Alzheimer'sA research team at Cardiff University has discovered two new genes that are linked to the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. In a press release, Dr. Rebecca Sims said, "In addition to identifying two genes that affect the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, our new research reveals a number of other genes and proteins that form a network likely to be important in its development." The study was published on July 17 in Nature Genetics. The DNA of tens of thousands of individuals with Alzheimer's disease were compared in the study.
