A toddler who wandered from his home and into the dangerous Siberian wilderness survived the 3 days it took to find him.
The Siberian wilderness is known for its punishing environment and dangerous inhabitants such as bears and wolves.
Remarkably, a toddler who wandered from his home and into the dangerous region survived the 3 days it took to find him, reports The Siberian Times.
The search for the child involved roughly 100 people including emergency service personnel, law enforcement, and area residents, and covered roughly 11 square miles on land and nearly 50 square miles by air.
Meanwhile, the 3-year-old sustained himself on the candy he had in his pocket and slept beneath a tree, notes the BBC.
He was finally located on Wednesday morning about two miles away from his home, exhausted and showing signs of hypothermia, but otherwise in good health.
Sholban Kara-Ool, the regional leader, said, “The whole village is throwing a party to celebrate his survival."
