If you strip it all back, the decision on Stephen Kenny’s Ireland contract was effectively made last November. Once the FAI board tasked CEO Jonathan Hill to go and negotiate an extension to Kenny’s deal, there was never a realistic prospect that it was going to end with the parting of ways.
