The latest version of Apple's popular iPad tablet may be launched on March 7
Apple is set to launch the third generation of its popular iPad tablet in a matter of weeks.
Industry rumors have it that Wednesday, March 7, is likely to be the day when Apple releases the iPad 3.
Those close to sources claim the iPad 3 will have a number of significant improvements over its predecessor model:
* A high-resolution 2048x1536 Retina display (four times that of the iPad / iPad2)
* A faster quad-core A6 processor (twice as fast as the iPad 2)
* Longer-lasting battery
* Possibly 4G connectivity
* Possibly support for Siri voice control
There is also speculation about the iPad 3 being able to be charged remotely – that is, charge its battery without being directly wired to an AC source.
