Police Officer Charged With Off-Duty Sexual Offence

A West Yorkshire Police officer is due to appear at court charged with a sexual offence. 

PC Gary Cavanagh, 59, who works in Leeds District, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. 

The charge relates to an off-duty offence. 

He is due to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court on 8 January. 

PC Cavanagh is currently suspended from duty.
