PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi accused of bribing former Fifa officialParis Saint-Germain's Qatari chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been accused by Swiss prosecutors of bribing a former Fifa official for World Cup TV rights.

Al-Khelaifi is chief executive of Qatar's beIN Media Group who are alleged to have paid money to the now-banned former Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke in exchange for rights to the 2026 and 2030 World Cup.

Both Al-Khelaifi and Valcke, as well as an unidentified businessman, are the subject of criminal proceedings as part of an investigation being conducted with the assistance of authorities in France, Greece, Italy and Spain.

"It is suspected that Jerome Valcke accepted undue advantages from a business man in the sports rights sector in connection with the award of media rights for certain countries at the Fifa World Cups in 2018, 2022, 2026 and 2030 and from Nasser Al-Khelaifi in connection with the award of media rights for certain countries at the Fifa World Cups in 2026 and 2003," said a statement from the Swiss attorney general's office.

BeIN Sports, whose offices in France were raided by investigators on Thursday morning said it "refutes all accusations" made by the attorney general.

"The company will fully co-operated with the authorities and is confident as to the future development of this investigation."

Valcke was the right-hand man to disgraced former Fifa president Sepp Blatter, before being banned for 10 years over an alleged ticket scam at the 2014 World Cup.

PSG have been led by Al-Khelaifi since 2011 following their takeover by Qatar Sports Investments.
